Critique Groups

A writer’s critique group must provide a safe and supportive environment with honest, detailed feedback.  Here in Israel, our SCBWI critique groups meet those standards.

Under the expert guidance of Critique Coordinator Pamela Moritz since 2012, our critique groups have been helping authors share ideas, encourage one another, sharpen their own skills, and support fellow writers.  These groups have also yielded meaningful friendships — along with several published books!

Current critique groups:

The Red Pencil and The Number Two Pencils – our picture book critique groups.

Novel Ideas – our middle-grade critique groups.

We are happy to open more if the need arises.

Pam’s groups are for books written in English.  If you’d like to volunteer to run a group in Hebrew, please let Pam know.  For picture book critique groups, submissions and critiques are emailed out to the group, and Zoom or in-person meetings happen about twice a year.

Take the next step in your writing journey – join a critique group!
