A writer’s critique group must provide a safe and supportive environment with honest, detailed feedback. Here in Israel, our SCBWI critique groups meet those standards.
When Pamela Moritz set up the first group in 2012, it was so authors could share ideas, encourage one another, sharpen their own skills, and support fellow writers. Fortunately, the groups have also provided friendships and published works.
Groups to date:
The Red Pencil and The Number Two Pencils – our picture book critique groups.
Novel Ideas – our middle-grade critique groups.
We are happy to open more if the need arises.
Pam’s groups are for books written in English. (If you’d like to volunteer to run a group in Hebrew, please let Pam know.) Submissions and critiques are emailed out to the group, and Zoom or in-person meetings happen about twice a year.
Take the next step in your writing journey – join a critique group.
